Athanasios Besios graduated from the Hellenic Army Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences, Military Science, and Operational Studies. He was honoured with the Medal of Friendship and Military Cooperation by the Ministry of Defence of Armenia. He began his career in the Greek Special Forces, serving for over a decade in Operational Units. Transitioning to the corporate world, he worked as a Sales Manager at IKEA in Barendrecht, Netherlands. At the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation he is responsible for coordinating the “Typhoon Project” and “Cyclone Project” programs.
