On July 13, 2021, the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation in collaboration with the Cultural Association of Moudros “Pavlos Koundouriotis” organized a public presentation titled “The Typhoon on Lemnos-Effective solutions for the marine environment.”
The event featured a photo exhibition presenting the Typhoon’s work on Lemnos”, as well as talks by the Foundation’s Executive Director, Dr. Angeliki Kosmopoulou and the President of the local Social Cooperative Enterprise “Alonitis”, Mr. Antonis Matzavelas. Participants included His Eminence Metropolitan of Lemnos and Agios Eustratios, Mr. Ierotheos, the Mayor Mr. Dimitris Marinakis, the Prefect of Lermnos and Agios Eustratios, Mr. Angelos Vlattas-Lambrinos, representatives of local authorities, the maritime authorities and the educational community.
The “Typhoon” stayed on Limnos for 122 days and cleaned over 206 shores on the island, covering 94,529 meters of coastline and removing 57 tons of litter.
